Exact opposite here. B&H has always shipped same day if ordered by 2PM EST for me. Adorama - next day.
I have not found that to be the case in over 10 years w/Adorama. Now please don't think I am saying what your experience(s) have/has been but usually if my order is in by 6pm, it goes out later that day and arrives next day here in Maryland. I have never had an issue with packing "delicate" items. Memory cards, mice, keyboards, printer ink....yeah they rattle at times but even that, never damaged.
Now also I am a NAPP member and I do get to deal with a dedicated gentleman, Jeff Snyder, who goes out of his way to make sure shippg is UPS and ordered at that time. But I do not use Jeff all of the time but it may pay to look into NAPP membership. It saves me a "ton" of money on member discounts(at B&H also) over a year and subscription price alone is usually paid for in a couple of orders.
There is some items B&H does not stock that Adorama does.
Good luck!

I am just going to interject some speculation of the "economics" of pricing by both Adorama and B&H. I have NO idea how their pricing structure is with all the manufacturer's they deal with.
Maybe B&H is willing to take a small loss on an item in order to get a better "bulk" price that can be translated into a loss recovery and increased sales when all sales are over.(?)More traffic usually results in more items being sold hence the increased traffic can make up for some of the loss.?? Maybe Sigma has business arrangements with specific dealers. While you would think same same for all, maybe not.
But please don't shut Adorama out because of this...Helen is great at handling problems here as is Henry.
If your problem is legit, and I am not implying it is not, Helen will get to it. Heh I feel your pain! Believe me the day they make "transporter" type communication devices that allow me to reach thru the device and strangle the customer rep, I will be the first to be jailed for assault and battery!
My Best!!
