My little Nina (oldest granddaughter) is now a sophomore in college, honor roll, and still (somehow) continuing her dance at least two nights a week We finally got our schedules together for a quick photo shoot, we tried to do this when the leaves were still on the trees, but you can see that didn't work, but we did finally get out!!
Bob, your daughter is beautiful.
200 1.8 is magical. #3 would be my pic. The expressions are just awesome. I'd have included her right hand in the second picture.
A great set overall. All the best to her for the school.
Sumtiw, Thanks for taking the time to comment. Good point on including the hand, there was very little cropping on this, I have to check to see if it's there
I should have stated in my original
Post that Nina's my oldest granddaughter
Thanks again
Bob, she's gorgeous as ever and you've got some really nice pics here. No. 3 is my clear winner, love the shot!
A couple nits/suggestions. On No. 1, the lighting is not good for her face but it can all be fixed in post. Her skin looks ruddy (compare it to her luscious facial skin in No. 3) and she's got shadows under her eyes, making it look like she has those bags that make you look tired/older. Look at the difference again in No. 3, but I would have toned those down a small touch just as well.
With the 200, it's tough to get full-body shots, environmental portraits. But you can do it, and they'll look amazing. Walk back to where you need to and get those shots. No. 2 is cropped way too tight in your shot. Full body and then some, to let the picture breathe a little bit. You can always crop down if you want.
Anyway, great job overall. It's good to see your shots, and good to see Nina again! What college is she attending? Is she still pursuing her music?
Ron, as always thanks for taking the time to comment. Points well taken, I'm still going thru all the shots, have to work on them , like you said, big difference between #1 and # 3. I would really like work on #3, might have to ask you privately for some pointers , if you don't mind.
Again, appreciate you taking the time to, make me better!!
BTW, Nina is the dancer, my Alexi
Is the singer/musician
Take care, Bob
Ron, Thanks. I'm a very lucky man, 5 grandkids, 3 boys, 2 girls. All making my wife and I very proud. I was in the navy nuclear submarine service for 10 years, never really saw my two daughters grow up, but we stayed in this area with the kids and watching everything as they grow up. Wouldn't change anything!
Just wanted to take a few minutes to thank Ron, for all of his help and taking the "extra time" to help me on the side on making some additional enhancements to these shots. Appreciate Ron going the extra mile and taking time out of his busy schedule to help educate me
Ron, You're good people
