This is probably one of the most photographed sites on Mt. Rainier but it is so dang beautiful, I can't help but post this photo. This is taken looking toward the Tatoosh Range.
A beautiful place. A fine photograph. Don't ever worry about shooting a icon. There is a reason that they are called icons. Also who knows, you may well come up with the next great rendition and everyone will be referring to your treatment of that icon for the next year or two.
Picturesque scenery, Rob! You've captured it during quite nice conditions ... the lupines seem to radiate light from within, particularly the ones in the mid-ground. The vignetting is just a bit strong here for me, but I can see what you were going for. The colors look quite natural, though the blues in the sky seem to transition a bit from blue to pink. Perhaps it's just from the light, but it's worth looking into I think. The composition is pleasant and spot on ... I like the placement of the trees and how none are cut off in awkward places. Overall, I enjoyed looking at this one!
