Glad you pointed out those sheep to us because although they are nicely sharp and all that, we might have mistaken them for rocks.
Either way, the contest rule says Canon dSLR only. Sorry. Next.
I also took video of that Bighorn Sheep herd with the same S100:

I don't think Nikon is allowed. Otherwise I have a D70s and can join in. Besides an old broken Canon film body all I have is the 7D Mark II.

Really enjoying the show being put on here ! Hope we can get more threads like this going to reinvigorate the Canon gear forum .
Peter, may I humbly propose setting a cut-off day/time for new submissions and then asking Fred to convert this thread to a poll so that we can vote on a winner?

Love that Fox with the speedlight. Awesome.
This was shot with the old 70-200 f4 (non-is). The camera was the 1D3 -- maybe not budget at the time but it seems to be now. The Hawk was not captive, he had a squirrel cornered in the tree and wasn't about to leave.

Thanx Mitesh. The cutoff will be in a few days when the contributions cease.
The contest rules say that the cheapest setup wins, assuming a viable and legit photo was taken with it and posted in here.
I will examine all the entries again for gear cost, and determine the lowest, i.e., the contest winner. I also plan to have a special mention for the technical & artistic merit, so that aspect of the contest will not get lost either.

I will approach Fred about the 1st prize: I reckon that could be something like a CPS coffee mug or a 5% discount voucher towards the purchase of a Holgamatic 3.
A "prize" that requires you to spend money is not a prize - it is a marketing scam.

This is almost unfair I know...My XSI was free after selling the 2 lenses that came with it...and the 300mm MF Nikkor was just $40...I could post a lot of shots but thought I'd just post this series I got of these Toms against Florida ferns...I like them for the lighting and not just for their "wild-life"
Hey wait a minute . . . I know those two birdbrains!
They're the CEO & CFO of the last company I worked for!

This post encouraged me to strap on a free to me vivitar 135mm f2.8(purchased as a lot from local goodwill a few years back, ebay price $15)+ fontasy MD-EOS M ($12 on amazon) and an EOS M ( $178 used for the same body that I have, maybe this disqualifies since EOSM is not technically a DSLR), for a total cost of $205.
Taken a few minutes ago. Peter, thanks for the creative thread
