p.1 #1 · The Mayor, Good Ol' Boy and a self portrait

A little photo shoot near Santa Fe yesterday and had to shoot the mayor of a little town. Pretty amazing fellow with quite a colored history. Sure liked his beer!
One of my favorites here done in color and monochrome. Just a Good Ol' Boy
Threw in a recent self portrait as well
Hope you all can enjoy it and have a great day!

Tonal contrast is a bit harsh. Makes the details more grittier than they should be unless that was your intent.

Other than that, great shots man!

Cerillos, Madrid? Or north to Espaņola or Tesuque? The mayor is a hoot. Klaus is mysterious.

Thanks and I really don't want too soft contrast image to represent an individual like this.

I like the perspective and how it draws you into the left side and his environment in general. What angle lens were you using here, if i might ask?

WOWIE ZOWIE, Klaus, my dear friend! Fabulous shots all. What kind of light was used for the first one? Just natural or did you have some modifiers? Great work!

Fond regards,

Endre

The first one is great! In my opinion it is far better the bw. And I need to say that I'm a big fan of bw shots and portraits.
I'm really like the subject, colours, perpsective and angle of view!
I want to know too what focal length did you use for that portrait!

No mate, the quality looks like shit! Has nothing to do with soft contrast your details are just everywhere is probably whats he talking about. Reminds me of those dumb noob hdr effects those grunge kids all get into. I agree, tonal contrast bit too harsh. You can still make him rugged without it.

Yes but its my shit and I will post my shit the way I like my shit. I guess there is some mold everyone needs to follow. So it looks a bit contrasty. The world keeps turning and no worries besides it keep people from stealing my shit. I'm not entering it for publication just a shitty shot to share with some other shit and shitty shots

Love these classic candids Klaus!!! Our "friend from down under" has a great sense of humor because that is all it can be!!!
No basis whatsoever in technique that is more personal than "what one likes". It is "periodesque" to me....
Well done!
Dan

Dan and no worries. I was just talkin'' shit
Its all good. Thanks. For your comments and if you met this guy you would be inclined to make it pretty gritty. You can just tell by looking at him he is straight up gritty to the bone
