Hello Harsha............you have captured quite an image in #1 my friend. The light is truly wonderful and the various forms and soft shadows add a lot of nice depth. The warm tones evoke a comforting feeling, I really like it
Two very cool images, Harsha. Love your take on these. They really do look like alien creatures. Although, I've never seen one. Lovely lighting and hues.
Nice work Harsha! I like both. Processing seems just right to me-not overdone. I just got back from the SW Tour with Marc. Intense, but got a lot of stuff to work on. Still behind from the last tour we were on...

Really nice shots. My only minor constructive criticism is that I wish your camera had been slightly lower so there was more visual separation between the bottom of the left foreground “mushroom” and the distance horizon. I slightly prefer the first shot.
Did you get to any of the other formations. These are OK but there are some pretty killer places back in there. I have a bunch on film and am going back to shoot them on digital next week when the Milky Way is out again.
I really like the second one here. The cloud position happened to be much better than the first by filling the sky a bit more. The composition is spot on with really excellent and careful placement of the rocks within the frame. I like that the stars are subtle and not too over the top. It actually looks natural compared to a lot of the weird sunset/star images some people are doing nowadays. Well done! Makes me want to go back and visit this place.

I prefer the first image - the colours are better and I like the less cluttered look of the sky. I would have preferred a fractionally lower viewpoint to separate the pedestal rock on the left from the background.
Hi Dave
I tried various angles for this shot but this is the one I liked the best. The lower viewpoint shots were lot earlier and the lighting was not that good. Thanks for the suggestion.

Very nice Harsha. Both are great but the second one is more mysterious for me. Cooler WB and stars create fantastic atmosphere. Try to add some light to the right side of the second photo around the horizon and the sky ( something like in the first photo just not as strong). See how it works.
Thanks for the suggestion Artur.. I will implement those when I print this.

Gorgeous shots, what were the camera settings for each shot, and the exact time in relation to sunset? (2nd shot looks like it was 20-30 mins after sunset?)
=Matt=
Hi Matt. Thanks. Exif is intact with the images. The second shot was take about 20 minutes later.

I am working on them Klaus and post them soon.

The first one wins for me. There you still have just enough light to highlight and accentuate the main elements. That is missing in the 2nd shot which as a result is more 2 dimentional.
