This shot is of Hidden Lake, located high up in the beautiful Glacier National Park. Surprisingly I never knew this park existed before getting into photography, even though it is a mere 4 hour drive from my hometown of Calgary. It has a feel and topography totally different then any area of Banff or Jasper I so often frequent. A place where the mountain goats can roam free to enjoy any spot of urine soaked ground they wish. A place where the road actually makes some serious elevation gain helping reduce the amount of hiking needed to take photos. And an area where every mountain has an identical twin, or even a triplet, which confused the hell out of me to no end.....Lets hope I don't have multiple similar looking children in the future.

Luckily, it is also a place that provided me with at least a half dozen great moments of light, this being one of the best from my past month of shooting. Thanks for looking!

A great shot, Justin, of one of my favorite parks. In six or seven visits there, I've never been at this overlook at sunset...a shame.

Hey Justin,

What a super cool looking shot. I really like what you got here and how you worked the sun. I didn't much care for the bathroom humor about the goats though, it kind of ruined the pleasure of reading your write up.

Cool shot. I could spend a whole summer there.

In your long serenade you forgot,
"A place where you can buy home made pie to go at the Park Cafe and enjoy the sunset a la mode". Not that I'm a bakery fanatic or anything, but a very important feature to include.

I know that place very well. Beautiful fall shot.

That location is one of the most demanding on dynamic range. The vertical relief is just immense and the steep slopes and ridge of Mt Cannon just to the right of the frame block the light from the sun hours before sunset during the summer months.

Really nice Justin! Just the right amount of exposure on the mountain and the warm light feels sooo good.

I've been to Hidden Lake so many times and never had light like this. Great image, maybe the best I've seen from this location. Congrats.

Justin, that's beautiful shot, and a lucky moment. When I was here, it was clear why the lake got this name as the area was completely hidden in fog.
