I was at a distance but I think it fell on the car and bounced off on the ground.
I didn't want to leave my trypod because you could miss another eagle flying - they could appear so fast!

Very nice shot BB My advice to anyone who visits the pond on a windy day is stick one leg of your tri pod through the fence. Now you know i am only a half an hour from the pond so i get there a lot.In years past we have seen eagles drop fish all the time but mostly in the water which is fine with me ,it only means that they are going to provide us with another fishing shot.If i had been there when this happened i would go get the fish walk up river and toss it in again for another shot ,i have done that a lot and other than haveing a glove that smelled a bit (shad do stink) we all get to follow that floater down river until the next eagle spots it and goes in for the kill Pm me the next time you will be there and we can meet up

Good shot. Maybe an Osprey was trying to steal his fish? I never leave a tripod untended, even for a moment. Once I had a new pair of high-powered binoculars on a tripod in my driveway and turned my back for a few seconds. I looked around just in time to see my big tomcat leap on top and ride it to the concrete. The surviving side made a pretty good monoscope.
