Canons D750 is the 5d3 just needs to be price aligned
I'm a big 5DM3 fan and own 2, the D750 is a better camera. It produces images that are so much cleaner above ISO 6400. The video quality is sharp and moire free, the 5DM3 video is soft. The obvious 2+ stops of DR(not a huge deal to me but to others yes).

What source are you using for this comparison? In the images I have seen, the 5D3 is about equivalent when exposed correctly and not stupidly pushed 3-5 stops just to make a point about the banding problems.

I liked the 6D. It has a surprisingly well-built feeling for its price except for the wheel. A better AF system would be welcomed and will likely come about due to competition from the D750.
Yeah, Canon is just discontinuing the 6D. The 5th top selling DSLR on Amazon. The top selling full frame DSLR on Amazon. Why keep making this thing? Nobody wants it.

What is proper exposure when the scene has more dynamic range than what the sensor can handle. Expose so you don't blow out the highlights and get dark shadows or expose for the shadows so they contain some value and then blow out the highlights.
People say "all you have to do is expose properly" either always shoot under controlled conditions or don't really know what they are talking about.
With the 5d2, I need to use GND filters for roughly 50% of my landscape scenes. With the A7R, this is reduced to roughly 10%. That is major progress...don't you think?

Not a surprise to see the off topic a7r cheerleading going on. Its horrifying to know that people aren't expected expose properly anymore and use DR as a crutch for poor technique. Talk about laziness, might as well green box it

I never go to the alt forum (where all this a7r discussion should be), so I won't miss you either

Its not a crutch. DR is important in almost any landscape shot and many others. More you have, better it is. Yes, people often use it as help and fix exposure in post, but thats kinda suprisingly not main point. Wedding photographers (some) didnt like Fuji S-system cause it enabled them to forget to expose right, but cause they could have details on white dress as much as on black one on same photo. (similar reason to like almost any Sony camera since Sony A900).
Otherwise Canon will continue to pull it "marketing way", but eventually they will either show, or die slowly. Or start buying Sony sensors like all others.

I swear every time I go out for landscapes, I want an a7r or d810. Even considered the Sigma DP series because of their somewhat infamous reputation
I believe the 6D was one of the best FF cameras which Canon put out on the market since the 5D MkII. Before Canon was missing an entry level FF camera where the 6D fitted right in. I wouldn't even expect that such entry level FF camera has the latest and best sensor - but the 6D high ISO capability is even better than in the 5D MkIII. Price-wise and quality wise at the time the 6D was a good compromise to get a FF camera. The disappointing part was not the 6D, it was the 5D MkIII which had a sensor performance not better (even worse) than the 6D!
I still use my 6d with pleasure every time. The high ISO performance is fantastic. I had the chance to buy a 5dIII or 6d and went for the latter because of this. I haven't regret that decision since.
Now the 6d is joined by an A7r for landscapes to make up for the DR.
I saw the 6D as an inexpensive way to get into full frame. Coupled with the 16-35/4L, I now have a nice light setup for the wide angle shots I was missing with the 1D Mk iV and 7D.
The high ISO performance and low-light focusing ability came as a bonus
