I've been able to do one of these each year. Here's the latest. They seem a little bright on the monitor but printed nicely. I'm always open to feedback, I've used suggestions I've received in the past in this album. Some of my goals on this album - from feedback I've receive in the past - were to include a few more portrait-y type photos, and more of her interacting with others, not just photos of her by herself.
Really, really good stuff, David! You'll absolutely love these albums 30 years from now, and so on. My one suggestion is to include pics of you and your wife, not just focus on your daughter. I'm willing to bet your camera shutter has a timer.
Ohhhh, mister, I'm your fan from this moment!
Winter snow sports are my favorite! What a great colors!!!
It becomes immediately apparent all your love to your daughter after viewing this album.
I think you shoukd decide what kind of album format do you want to have. On your daughter or whole family together.
I'm sure that family moments are very important!
And maybe its just me, but I dont like bw and color shots mixed together.
I thought I was the only one who did this. I do it for my grandchildren and the adventures we have. Very fun and the parents already look back and are surprised at what memories they have already forgotten. Great book!
I love it so much a couple weeks ago I made one for my wife & family and it was amongst the biggest home runs I've ever hit
neighborboy, do you have a favorite focal length that you use for most of your family candid type shots (I just upgraded to FF and need to add something a little wider)?
Thanks Nexu. My current favorite is 24mm on full frame. The very few ones that are telephoto are the 135mm. Between those two lenses, that probabis ly 95% of my shooting.
Very nice work. Personally I have no problem with color and b&w in an album. Especially as you have done it on separate pages. I do albums myself. Who do you use to print?
I think this album is great! It is well thought & laid out and chock full of wonderful pictures. I also find it inspiring as I journey into my FPJ 'career' to focus not just on the child, but also the family, the activities, and the environmental shots to build great albums such as this one.
I also feel that mixing BW and color is just fine when done thoughtfully, as you've done. Some pictures just look better in one versus the other and an album focused on family should not be limited.
