Here's a photo of my 16 year old daughter, Katalin, (Kat) playing dress-up in some vintage clothing. I captured a whole bunch of nice shots of her in various costumes and will post others as they are finished. I hope you like it.
Lovely theme ... I enjoy this shot very much. It even looks like mink ! The only thing I notice is that the hair is not "period correct" (although I could be wrong) Everything otherwise fits.
You did very fine lighting and your daughter is an absolute delight as a model!
Thanks so much, Tony! I am delighted that you like it.
It IS mink - so I'm glad it looks right. (Maybe it is too politically incorrect to reveal that it is really mink, nowadays?? Oh oh! I may be in big trouble now. )
As to the hairstyle, I'm not sure there is enough hair showing to make a judgement about it. My older daughter studied costume design and was my "art director" for the shoot, so I shall have to query her about it.
All the best,
Endre

I think it's a gorgeous shot exactly as it is. Great job with this! Really nice lighting, and your daughter totally pulls this off. Having said all that, I would love to see this same look with short lighting. I think it would make a world of difference.
Nothing unusual for lighting. I had one of my Alien Bees 800s inside a big umbrella box on the right and a reflector on the left. For a little light in the back had a speedlight in slave mode with a black paper snoot on it to focus it toward the background. I hope that helps.
All the best,
Endre

do you mind sharing your lighting set-up?
Beautiful image.....
Yes, different lighting would have been quite a different shot. I think had it been short lighting the gloves and the front of the coat might have been too prominent. Next time.
All the best,
Endre

Like it ? I love it; The light, the expression, the warmth both emanating from lighting and fur tonalities. Such beautiful expressive eyes and magnificent sharpness vs Bokeh on this superb well thought of background. What's there not to love.
