Nope. Because fanbois will be fanbois. I want honest opinions. Asking Canon users what they like about Canon would be the same results.
Are you aware of the sexual undertones in spelling fanboy the way you did?
Every time I've picked up a Nikon it has felt awkward and unnatural. This is beyond just "different" and did not go away, or get more comfortable with time.
I love the history of the brand, and I still have family members who insist that Nikons are the only "real" camera you can buy. I love the images Nikons produce and now they have this "killer" sensor which adds another hugely positive element to their cameras.
But I can't get used to the feeling when one is in my hands. It's just not a good shooting experience for me.

What do I dislike/like about Nikon...
Likes
- one of my 'life' long friends is a Nikon shooter, his 18-200 zoom is absolutely killer, Canon's 'SUCKS'
- being able to try Nikon gear is a huge bonus and continues to remind me why I shoot Canon
- it's cool Nikon saw the potential in Sony's EXMOR sensor tech and implemented it, that kind of decision is bold; not clinging to home-grown must have been difficult.
- DSLR pricing as of late seems more reasonable given economic times
- their flash system has always been top-notch and envied, until Canon caught up; I'll never part with my MT-24EX and 580EXII setup; tho the 600RT looks interesting
Dislikes
- their body ergonomics SLR/DSLR and menus for DSLRs absolutely 'SUCK' and they have since 1978
- the shutter button positioning is silly and awkward
- there's no QCD and this is a monumental flaw/omission
- other than a few stellar lenses the bulk of their glass is quite uninteresting price/performance wise
- they've 'never' and continue to not have a wired remote switch that I can use, they are too fat and the actual button is in the wrong place...
- the left turn glass plays with my mind and that frustrates my crippled state
This is personal opinion/experience, nothing more, nothing less, both systems server their masters well

I shot canon for 7+ years and now shoot Nikon. Lots of PRO's and CONS with both systems some little some big.
Competition is good for us
I won't really bad mouth either one, their both GREAT systems and can do GREAT things.
These are just my personal things I have noticed that I can remember.
thoughts:
DR (big one for a lot of people)
AF assist lamp (cool sometimes, you can always turn it off, but its their, I normally leave it off)
Standard plastic screen protection, its a great feature and comes with the camera
built in commander flash on FF bodies (huge one for me personally save me several hundred dollars and I an still trigger flash
Dual SD slots on entry level FF (big one for me to have RAID), I don't like the mixed cards of the 5dmIII or D800x
I personally like the 50mm AFS and 85 AFS better than the cannon counter parts, great value for the money. I believe they have full time manual focus and the canons do not (if I remember correctly)
I do like the 70-200 IS II 2.8 better than about anything else (tamron is not bad though)
Canon does have the 1.2 PRIMES which are awesome, but out of my range of my bag anyway
You can use older Glass AIS/AI primes.
Menus, I really still like the canon menu system better, maybe cause I grew up with it?
I have enjoyed the colors on my Nikon (don't flame me please..its not meant for that, i'm just saying for me personally and canon don't have bad colors, its a personally comment please take it as such)
Do think Canon has more comfortable bodies for the most part.
At the time I switched I felt personally like the Nikon system gave me more value for the money and I have enjoyed it.
Both take GREAT photos and comes down more to skill than any system.
maybe ask what people like and dislike about their canon cameras here and what they could take from Nikon for improvements. That said I prefer the ergonomics of canon, and the availability of more lenses.

I agree on ergonomics. Its seems the conversation about what Canon does wrong often turns into a load of fanbois who see canon as not capable of doing wrong and that back and forth gets tiring quickly.
I shot film for many years with Nikon and sold the lot to go digital with Canon.
To me Canon even when shooting film have always been far more innovative than Nikon...my opinion.
First stabilized lens then the first super teles with it now its weight where Canon again leads.
Shooting Nikon till 03 those white lenses with stabilizers where Nikon had none was a huge magnet. Combine that with the lead in IQ Canon had back then made a decision to switch simple.
A System is made up of lenses, cameras and the individual technologies within.
If you where to list them all ie lens Weight..lens IQ..stabilizer..CA..camera AF accuracy and tracking..color...DR...FPS..ISO capability..build..weather sealing..reliability i can only see one where Canon trail being equal or better in every other area by varying margins from small to not so small.
I can live with DR to have the rest of the benefits the Canon system gives you.
Not a single regret and with all the positives why would there be..
This seems like a great topic... for a Nikon forum. ;-)

I love my canon gear. I see a lot of people switching in the B&S forum. I've got very little loyalty to any brand. I spent a lot of time with Nikon gear and there were some disadvantages and some advantages.
Nikon complaints
The menus just suck IMO. For me the green tint bugged the crap out of me. The focus breathing 70-200(really more like 70-135)VR2 bugged me. The huge files. The moire and aliasing(mostly video) Bugged the crap out of me. The lens selection.... Lots of gaps. Seems almost everything is made in China now.
But I loved
The obvious DR. I could do so much more in post.
The cleaner files. Less noise, more desirable noise.
Built in AF assist.
Built in flash(to trigger OCF in a pinch).

Sure, if every topic wasn't littered here with Nikon/Sony DR debates. So I just say, to hell with it. Lets hear the pros and cons of Nikon, from mostly non Nikon shooters which is more interesting to me.
What I like about Nikon:
* Zoomable/Pannable RGB histogram which adapts to the portion of the image in view at the time
* Spot-metering on any AF point even for entry-level bodies
* Auto ISO implementation (2 modes): minimum shutter speed/max ISO and also a focal-length scalable mode with +/- 2EV bias support. Support for Auto ISO exposure compensation in manual mode
* Much more consistent flash metering vs Canon
* Zoom-to-face detection+selection on playback for verifying focus in people shots
* Greater DR, supports near ISOless shooting
* APS-C lens support on FF bodies
What I dislike about Nikon:
* Poor customer service, both phone and repair. Horrible track record for corporate responsibility and standing behind their products. Anti-competitive parts availability policy.
* Ergonomics, esp button placement and also grip on most bodies (D810/D750 is supposed to be improved but haven't tried those yet)
* Poor Live View implementation vs Canon (bad clarity, low refresh rate, poor low-light performance)
* Workhorse lenses inferior to the Canon counterparts (24-70, 70-200 f/2.8, 24-105/120)
* Gimping one-click 100% playback/LV zoom support on certain bodies (D600/D610/D7000)
I've moved to Canon earlier this year, and the biggest (and very pleasant) surprise has been much much better the Canon lenses are. I had expected it with some like the 135L, but it turned out that pretty much every single Canon lens I now own beats it's Nikon sibling that I had before, and in some cases by quite some margin: 16-35/4, 24-70/2.8II, 70-200/4 IS, 35IS, 135L, 180L, 200/2.8L, 400/5.6 (well that one does not even exist in Nikon's world).
Most everything else about Nikon and Canon has already been said, but the lenses are really the main point for me. 2nd in line perhaps is Canon's awesome wireless flash remote system.

Quite.
It seems the perfect petri dish for inflamed comment too.
Couldn't we just agree it's almost impossible to buy a bad new dslr now and that in skilled hands they can all do an excellent job and that we are all extremely lucky to be picture-taking in this wonderful digital age?

I was waiting for you
Listen, camera forums are for discussion. Some discussions you may enjoy and some may not be your thing and that's ok. But we can't keep kissing canons rearend, we can discuss other brands. We can piss and moan about everything and anything..... That's the point. Find a way to enjoy yourself, seriously. Don't take this stuff so personally.

The lenses are unmatched. Canon lacks in sensor tech but damn they killed it on the lens front.
