Don't laugh but I am indeed glad to see some good use out of that kit lens. it truly isn't as bad as folks have been making it out to be. Stopped down it renders a fine image. I'm willing to be had you claimed it was an L you would have fooled most of those looking at the image. I frankly don't think Canon makes ANY junk if it's used properly. :-)
First I apologize for the size of this image, but I could not have ever gotten the point across at the staggering resolution of the wonderful 16-35 2.8L lens. It is much maligned and wrongly so. I still consider it the finest of the wide angle lens choices available. I also find the pastoral and majesty of the Lewiston Idaho valley from the top of Lewiston Hill breathtaking as indeed you can see for many miles.....I just don't think any other lens could have captured it quite this way......and without stitching too......
What a beautiful town. Thanks for bringing this photo. I've never been in Idaho
but I like the small scale of the town yet it seems to be large enough to have
several bridges and a lot of vitality. Might be a nice place to live. Not that
I'm looking; I alread live in a nice place. Your lens done good.
Well. . .I have new favorite lens - the 17-40/4L. It arrived yesterday and I took it on a family outing down to the Salt River here in Arizona. The sunset was gorgeous! Adjusted the forground to bring out some detail with the shadow/highlight tool and added a slight bit of red filter.
I can't post. I've looked at all of these images and have decided that it might be better that I don't even own a camera. You people are simply awesome.
What the heck, I'll jump in here - although most of the previous images are pretty intimidating!
I caught this one this morning on my way out the door for work.
Man i have not seen such a good pick of the N.L. since i actually saw them while living in NP AK :P Thanks a bunch. I have spent years trying to explain them to my wife (so. cal girl) it was a pointless exercise till last nite.
