My Ruby-Throated Hummingbirds have finally left.
Last year my last sighting of a hummer was September 17 and this year it was September 27th.
I finally started to photograph my songbirds. They have been very active! A good variety has been showing up.
My very late in the season perennial flowers have started blooming which is so nice to view when summer flowers have ended.
I decided to do a variety post of Ruby-Throat, Songbirds and my current flowers in bloom. I am including Ruby since I have so many photos that I still haven’t shared with you all yet.
Here goes a new story

Yes, I am still here but the sun is setting much earlier now <sigh> so I think I will start packing my nectar for my long journey home.

Hey Ruby check out a new flower Mrs. Gardener has planted. Not sure if it is something you can pack in your suitcase but I advise that you check it out!

Boy I am exhausted checking out those three new autumn flowers.
I am to say that I didn’t care for them; they gave me a bellyache.
Ruby you are not alone. My belly can get mighty full from all the bugs I eat and then I get a bellyache too. I myself all the time to get my act together and go on a diet! Then I when I gain more weight
You take it easy dear Carolina Wren and all my other dear sweet Songbird Friends.
I am ready to fly off on my long journey so see you all next May! Please stop saying all those nice sweet things because you guys are making me Goodbye sweet friends!
Cheer up Mrs. Gardener, Ruby will be back in no time. You have all us colorful songbirds to photograph and just think mid-October you will be photographing the bald eagles. So life isn’t that bad
Beautiful set BeeBalm. When we were in Arkansas, I tried and tried to get photos of the Chickadees, Titmouse and Nuthatch, but none were close enough to get a good shot. (The 5 dogs in the yard didn't help much ) I love seeing your birds. I know they are backyard birds to you, but for me they are a rare pleasure to see. Great set.
