I myself don't know if I should thank or curse the A7 for the newly opened opportunities for LBA

One thing to also consider is the number of adapters you might need to manage.
I try to keep it to 2 types in one outing.
There was once I brought 3 brands and ended up with a backup adapter for each and then hassle of remembering which lens I needed to just change lens and which I needed to change lens+adapter.
Not too nice when in the rush to shoot.

I like the idea of keeping 2 types in one outing. For the matter of convenience, I often leave the adapters attached to the lenses, so I do not have to remember which adapter goes to which lens.

I have to admit, I've gone out on a shoot with a camera and a bag full of "alt" lenses, only to discover I brought the wrong adapter...

@molson: You are not the first! I went out on a shoot with a camera body and several alternative lens...to discover later that I forgot to bring adapters! Haha...since then I keep the adapters attached to the lens!

Just quick comparison shots with Contax 135 and Takumar bayonet. Takumar is much lighter and has closer MFD, Contax has longer focus throw (not by much) and look very solid. I am still waiting for Canon FD, so once I get that I will post some more shots with both. All shots are at F/2.8 although on Takumar lens this is half stop between 2.5-4, so can't be sure about that one. Order of shots: Contax-Takumar, Takumar-Contax, Contax-Takumar

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the Canon 135mm F3.5 LTM Rangefinder Lens. 425 gms, 10 blade aperature, sharp wide open. I find it great for portraits with a pleasing bokeh. Pebble Place has a review of it here.

IMO, this is a poor lens.

Of the 3 135's I have, this is the worst IQ and by far the largest. Both vivitar and canon FDn are sharper, but FD takes the cake. Best contrast, sharp wide open @f2.8. Want the f2 as I miss my 135L, but love the compact size. The f2 is a possibility...

I've had two Canon 135's..... the 2.5 and now the 2.0. Both
were wonderful on my m4/3 & NEX. I just used the 2.0 on
my Sony A7R and it looked great.

This was a quick shot in my front yard in early morning light.....
