This is a recent photograph taken early in the morning at Moraine Lake. I was hoping for a cloudless sunrise and this morning did not disappoint. This allowed the sun to cut through the crisp cool mountain air and light up the top of the mountain peaks. It was a very cold morning and the result made it worth getting up at 4am to get out there.
Great shot Gary! Was just there and did exactly the same thing. You had better light in the morning. I was there Wed morning. I was worried I'd have no reflection as the wind picked up just as the light was getting good, but it dropped off about a half hour later and I was able to manage some shots with the reflection.

Yes, it is strange. They wind typically starts to pick up just around sunrise and then die down shortly thereafter. I had good luck this time around.
