Mt. Baker sunset from Artist's Point. This is an incredibly beautiful location! You can view Mt. Baker, then turn around and view Mt. Shuksan on the the other side. See my earlier post for that view.
This is really sweet! In all my travels to Washington, I have not been to Artists Point, I think I need to add it to the list for next time. What a cool location.
Oh man! That's what I'm talking about! Went up there, I think it was August 2011, and the road was closed from the ski resort. Solid snow. The rangers said there was 30 of snow over the bathrooms at Artist Point. For this Florida boy, that is unbelievable! So needless to say, Artist Point is still on my list. You done good.
This has an amazing composition! Really beautiful. Did you use an nd grad for the shot? And did you darken the sky further in post processing? I'm looking into nd grads but I'm going back and forth on what grade to get and whether I want a soft or a hard grad.
Spencer, I did not use an ND grad. I used 2 images to focus stack the flowers in the foreground and the mountain. I also used a 3rd image exposed for the sky, then blended them together.
Gorgeous. Really nice composition, exposure, beautiful light, and post processing. Did a day hike near there (Excelsior Peak) early in August, but was on a family vacation and couldn't get the schedule to work out for getting to Artist point for golden hour shots. Gotta get back there with more time for shooting...
This really has a nice leading line from the flowers flowing to the bushes, trees and finally to the mountains. The overall mood is a bit dim, which I think works really well with the bright yellow of the flowers and the color in the sky...lots of delicate range. Well done!
