A tongue-in-cheek nit for a nice shot -- three tails come this way and two go the other way. Sheesh, why can't you get the tails to go all in the same direction!??
You're lucky to have five of them. I have two GSDs and they're a handful but I'd take five if I could
I bet it took you a little while to set up that shot!

Thanks so much, all. We've had harsh sun with no clouds for what seems like months, so it was great to finally get some clouds to soften the light a bit! Went to a nearby park Friday for their evening walk. Wasn't the best place for shooting them, as most of the backgrounds weren't great.
They swam a bit in the river, then, as we were walking toward the car getting ready to leave, we saw the beautiful sunset. I half-jokingly said to Mrs. Whip, "Okay, set them up on that bench over there." I wasn't sure if she would or not, but she quickly got them in place (just a couple of minutes).
Of course Fuzz, the youngest (far right), was the most challenging to get to sit still, as always. The light was pure enough that we got by without any sort of reflector or fill, which was great, as they didn't sit still for long!

How do you tell them apart?
Easy! (most of the time, anyway)
L to R: Groovy, our super-champion who has been in the Westminster Dog Show a couple of times, and was Golden Retriever of the year a couple of years ago; Butter, who will retrieve balls for you all day and all night - relentless athlete! ; Rico, the only boy in the group, with his giant head and lion-like mane; Joy, the mommy of all of them (except one - she's grandma of Fuzz); and Fuzz, who is from Groovy's first litter last year. Sometimes Fuzz and Groovy look alike, and have very similar personalities.
Always fascinating to me how they can be from similar lineage and have such distinct personalities (or is that caninalities?).
