Hi guys! Long time, no post. I've been busy with the kids and summer break, vacation, and just life in general. We got back from a trip to my home state of Washington a few weeks ago and had such a wonderful time up there.
I just wanted to share a few recent favorites!
A little shoot I did on the coast of WA...

And last but not least, a few of some of my own kiddos. We've had a great monsoon season which means lots of flowers! My poor husband is suffering big time with his allergies though.

Lisa, I really like the direction you are headed with the first shots in this post. The more muted palette provides a very different response to these photos for me. Number 3 is my favorite as I love both the palette and the connection of your subject with the viewer.
Frogfish, I think you are right about the b&w - I reposted a toned down version - does that look better?
Definitely much better ! Personally I'd bring it down a tad more to be more in line with the earlier dreamy look ... but that's purely a personal preference.
I’m personally getting tired of bokeh and its over usage, but I think Lisa nailed it in this series, when done right it is still a thing of beauty. Congrats!
Beautiful work! I especially like 3 and 8. Everything comes together with the crop and composition in 3 combined with the relaxed pose and natural expression.
Nice series Lisa. I vacationed in Washington this last spring and your first 5 have captured the feel of the location. Very misty, but beautiful. 3 & 4 are my favorites. Simple portraits with nice color and very relaxed children.
Well done.
Greg
I love your take on cold tones with the foggy portraits, as I'm normally used to seeing your late afternoon/magic hour portraits...wonderful and surreal at the same time
Thank you. Coming back to this horrid, dry desert after being up there was hard to do. I'm now officially looking at homes for sale in Alaska. I want to move.
It's a strong testament to your talent that you can go to such a different environment (Washington) and create those wonderful soft pastel images that are still recognizable as and unmistakably yours.
