Hi
How time flys. Ican't believe it has been so long since I last posted here. I am sure the years get shorter as you get older.
I was fortunate enough to return to the Danube Delta in Romania in May for a week of photography. Its an amazing place! This year I spent the entire week in the Delta based at Mila 23 and a new area which has recently opened on the Ukraine border near Periprava known as Ultima Frontiera (the Last Frontier).
If anyone is interested there is a complete day by day account on my blog but thought I would post a selection from the first few days of the trip. I will do another post with a selection from the latter half which includes some interesting encounters with European Golden Jackals.
Fantastic capture Richard... great action and head angles with catchlight on both Terns, nicely sharp detail and beautiful color and BG.
Excellent work and I look forward to seeing more of your pics from this trip.
Great photos and blogs you have. An other Forum member, (Conrad Tan) also do photography in Hungary by using Saker Tours. I was out on the Hortobagy but not been that lucky. Ferne Is. (next year) is on my short list, your blog is an excellent collection of information. The problem we having on this side of the ocean to take gear with us places like you can easy reach from Europe. So mostly just drive to places using trucks and camper.
Many thanks for your replies, which are appreciated.

By strange coincidence I met Conrad in Hungary when I went a couple of years ago and we have stayed in touch since. Currently next year I have my sights set on about 10 days in Iceland with a camper van which I am already looking forward to. I suppose we are lucky in the UK that we can easily reach some good destinations in Europe with a 2 to 3 hour flight. Like every wildlife photographer I hate airports and flying. My current solution is to either fly with the budget airline Easyjet (which if you book an extra leg room seat guarantees a larger hand baggage size i.e a Gura Gear with no weight limit) or I go with British Airways assuming its a direct flight with no change to a different carrier. (which again have a Gura Gear bag size limit but with 23kg allowance). You pay more with British Airways but it removes all the stress!
