Been spending some time travelling here in the southwest shooting the monsoon. I have a few here from Arizona taken last week you all may enjoy. These were all taken with a Sony IR modified a7r and Nikon 14-24mm lens.
Amazing work, Klaus. #2 is my favorite for the scenic capture of the moment.
#1 has fantastic FG detail. Is it my eye, or is this shot listing a bit to the right?
Klaus, I love your work. I have though of you with this latest storm track. #1 has so much detail. #2 is that special moment and I remember the "reservation," dogs. Keep shooting and stay safe. Great post. J. R.
Very nice Klaus. You are the desert lightning master. People can learn from you that a good landscape still requires a foreground, midground, and background (lightning strike)... As it's like a rainbow or a moon, there has to be something there to excite the viewer.
I really like #2 and #3 in that order. The detail in #1 is incredible. Would love to see all of them in color, but I guess they would be infrared, right?
Thank you everyone and happy you have enjoyed these. Yep. there is a bit of a learning curve with shooting lightning and when and where to be to catch it. I shoot over 50 storms a year and only come up with 1-2 good lightning shots in a season. Hoping to catch more with a little over a month left in monsoon season.
Thank you AMaji and Tom and everyone! Happy you were able to enjoy these monochrome views of the southwest. Makes me feel good knowing there are still people who enjoy Monochrome and not just over saturated color.
