I designed this pose with the model's face, hands, and fingers together to achieve an "Expression", and hope that the toning for this image is appropriate for the goal. I welcome all comments and suggestions. Thanks.
Very nicely done. I like the way you used the hands/fingers. Love the light, though I might want to dial it back a bit on her forehead. Love the toning. Great job!
Thanks Steve for your comment. If I cut it below the right elbow, it would be very close to cutting the model at her right hip. I tried to avoid cutting at the joints. Your thought is appreciated.
I like the tone and maybe a bit too hot on forehead but to me the hand positions on the face are more of a "thinking" expression where her facial expression is seductive so a bit of a disconnect to me...maybe this was your intent??
Thanks Brian, Jim, docsmiles17, and Frogfish for your thoughts and comments.
@ Jim: I assume that you could use a bigger light modifier for the main light to soften the image, but you must be careful to avoid too much spilled light and perhaps need to use more flags to control the light.
@docsmiles17: It is the pondering/thinking expression that I am going for, but you are right at there is a bit of seductive expression as well.
@Frogfish: I agree with a bit hot spot on the forehead and would certainly dim it down in the next version.
I really like this pose and the hands. The tone is really nice as well.
I like the variety of the different images you post. You do well in color and in monotone.
Greg
Thanks Greg for your positive feedback on this image and compliment on my other images. I am glad that I could share my work with and learn from you all.
Some CC: The cut off elbow is fine. The her left elbow is a bit distracting - it floats and is as brightly lit as her face. Next time have it slanted down - so that it ends up more in shadow. A graduated darkening in PS may do the trick on this shot.
You may want to look at Monte Zucker's handbook on posing. He's great with hands.
