Incredible Fitz Roy mountain, Patagonia, Argentina.
I decided to convert this shot to B&W. The gray rock with the white snow and white clouds made it a logical choice.
Also, this is more or less only a mountain with a grey rock so the color version didn't look very colorful. After converting it to B&W the shot looked a lot better in my opinion.
Here it is
Wow what a spectacular location. I agree that b&w really works with this one. Looks like a tough photo to capture with the bright lit snow. It's a great photo.
I agree with your B&W choice. Love the cross lighting, clarity and sharpness. Felt myself trying to blow the big cloud aside so I could see the whole mountain!
Love it man! The varying lights peaking through is epic. A very powerful image.
I hope your new workshop with Mark capture some epic scenes. Make sure he teaches you how to cook "rise". Don't want you guys to starve there :P
Jason
. Thanks Jason. I'm sure I won't be asking him to show me how to cook rise, or anything else, since he said himself he sucks at cooking. Argentina has the best stakes in the world, period! I was eating them like crazy while there. I'll do this again on my workshop. They are also quite cheap...

You have been making people cry for Patagonia!
Another wild and dynamic scene there!
Keep posting.
Thank You Kee Woo Rhee.
I'm just starting.... After we come back with Mark Metternich this is going to be a serious crying
The idea is to show you all (that signed up for our workshop) the most beautiful part of the world, in my opinion. It's so unspoiled, unpolluted, silent, an almost a different planet...
I'd just sit, stare, and enjoy it. And, of course photograph it.

Greg, awesomely dramatic!!!!!!
I can feel the wind, the cold, the emotion/\.... great scale and depth and your b/w is a winner!
Dan
Thank You Dan. But I gotta tell you... At first I didn't know if a B&W shot will be something people will even look at for more than a sec. I've noticed that the more colorful (and saturated) shot is, the more likeable it is. This isn't always true, but very often, especially on websites like 500px or something. But I'm happy people liked it. For those interested... I used Nik's Silver Efex Pro to process it. No affiliation with the company (which belongs to Google now, so it's not Nik anymore but Google, really) but it is a quite an impressive piece of software, and I'm a software engineer so I know what I'm talking about. Trust me
I will talk about Nik and Topaz (also very impressive plugins) on my and Mark's Patagonia workshop.
