Thank you all very much for the kind words. They were indeed but they didn't expect to get this kind of stuff. They only hired me based on photos they saw at the venue. I met with them a few times to discuss their wants and wishes, but i never told them that i could make shots like this. I only do that so they're super shocked at what they get after Makes the surrealism and excitement all the more fun.

I can clearly see what looks like the familiar D800/etc. amp glow bottom left. Is this edited/exported in adobe or nikon software?
I'm inclined to see that particular image sample as my first genuine deterrent to purchasing the D810.
Really? You are concerned with a tiniest bit, almost unnoticeable, of (possible as it is unproven) amp glow at ISO14,368 when I have shown you in other posts that it doesn't occur at ISO6400? Is this really a deal breaker or an excuse?
Yes, I am concerned about something which, on my display calibrated approximately to show me how images will print, seems very noticeable - but if your screen is less contrasty or darker the issue might not even be visible. It prompted me to take a photo sample with my 5d3 to compare the shadows. Since it's a Canon photo and this is the D810 thread, I'll just leave the link rather than a direct image.
The output seems similar to me, but the bottom left edge of the D810 file is definitely more intense to my eyes.
In either case, the result is probably about a stop better than my 5d2s in this regard.
I'm not trying to be a downer. I really want this camera to do better. I want technology improvements, I am happy when I see visible improvements, but I try to not get biased by hoping or assuming things are better with each update.
In a way, all of my scrutiny and research comes down to trying to make the best use of my limited funds. If I could afford the best and had someone else carry my stuff around all the time, I'd just get 1dx/d4s/etc. and not worry about how the less expensive cameras perform.

Well, the D810 is better. As you can see from my posted results, the D810 does not suffer any amp glow at ISO6400 whereas the D800/E certainly did.

The different color area in bottom left is part of my wooden patio, so not amp glow. This picture is from a RAW file converted to DNG and then imported to LR. I have done only normal noise reduction and sharpening in LR.

Another way to look at it.... if you picked bottles and got money for recycling them rather than research, you could get the latest and greatest and not have to think about it
My dog was so happy about the D810 he helped me tear open the packaging!
IQ is similar to my D800E but the improvement on shutter and live view make it easier to manual focus. I will now sport a D810 + D800E combo. I am glad I sold off the D4!
Cant wait to try this out with the trilogy, shot this the other night with just the 24-120. My favorite walk around lens. After a very brief venture to the other side, I am so glad to be back with Nikon!
