One of my first test shots with the D810 and Sigma 35mm ART.
Did yours come with the fix already applied (i.e.: black dot and firmware C1.01) ? If this was one of your first shots, do you know the shutter count is already at 169? I hope you don't mind me checking the EXIF data because I recently was sent a new camera that had 150-200 clicks on the shutter already with the thermal fix applied. Some people report they had 0, so I wonder why some cameras have this high a shutter count and others have 0.

Firmware updated = true
Black sharpie dot = true
Shutter count = 1 (or, zero before my first test shot)
Serial number in affected range = false
Thanks again. The picture you posted here as one of you first shots with the D810 and Sigma 35 art is at 169 for the shutter count but you said yours was at 0. Did you take 168 photos before this one? Also, did your 35 art need any AF adjusting. Mine did on two separate D810 bodies.

dude! almost gave me a heart attack! Not the biggest fan of spiders. especially on my 27" screen.
is there a reason you shot it at F16?
As a novice, my theory was to get maximum DOF. There is a flash behind the spider with white translucent diffuser and one in front also. Thank you for commenting.
Peace

Not that I've ever believed in the Nikon skintone argument, but if this thread is any indication, it is as good as anything I've ever seen from any brand. Great stuff guys.

Ya, that is true. The skin tones on the 810 are a big jump from the 800.

Ah, yeah, I meant "first few" like first few hundred. The very first shot was of my wife driving as I unboxed the thing. File #1, shutter actuation #1.
I'm really liking the D810. Had the D600 when it was released, but sent it back because of the oil issue. The 810 just feels much better in the hand, fits my hand really well even though I have small-medium hands. It's my first pro level Nikon (had the 5DM3 before) and the ergonomics and button layout just makes sense. Having buttons on the left for WB/ISO/Quality/and Metering makes more sense to me than the Canon layout plus a true 2 dial system makes sense too. I know some people complain about having the Quality button at the top, but I like it because there's times that I want to take small JPEG's to take product pictures or just quick snaps and being able to quickly change between full RAW and small JPEG is convenient. Shutter sounds much better than the D800 I played around with when my friend lent me his. This is going to be a keeper and I'm glad I bought it. Now to enjoy my vacation next week.
Nikon fixed my ISO gripe and allowed the record button to be used as ISO control on the D800/810. I really wish they would allow you to set one of the function buttons to AF mode control so it doesn't have to be a 2 handed operation to change the AF mode. Would have been nice if they would have included a proper U1/U2 mode... that would solve the 2 handed AF issue as well. Hopefully a firmware update would correct this. With those 2 fixes, the 810 would be damn near perfect.
