Very nice image, although it seems like he might want to try the front of the flower.

Exquisite image, Birdie! Pose, comp, and background make this something special. I would try backing off the sat and exposure just a bit in the red channel (or selectively on the sunflower petals) just to see if you can recover a bit of texture there, without losing the brilliance.

Greg, thank you so much. I will see what I can do with the flower, good suggestion and I appreciate it.

Hi Roberta,

This is a very nice capture. If you want a bit more detail in the flower try the equivalent of this in lightroom. I'm a Photoshop person so you will need to translate.

Open curves, select the red channel, then grab the dot at the upper right corner and pull it down just a touch watching the orange petals. As soon as detail appears stop pulling down.

I'm guessing you can do the same with a control point in Lightroom.

Have fun,

Morris

With all the rave people gave this photo, they should see it now with more detail in the flower and a brighter bird.
