Sorry. I took you serious and just offered you my support. Of course my offer was not completely unselfish. 1D X would be a nice backup body for the 6D.

That it would Ralph, but what would you do with the 500?? Thanks for the support

I'm also in a search of Nikon D600. love my Canons but I just picked up a nice 200 f2 VR1 from friend in financial need... can't wait to try it out.
Hell no I'm not crossing over... this will be my step child that I never wanted. Going to call him 'blown condom'.

I would sell it and travel around for a year ore something. Or I would keep and use it for shooting motorsports. Or I would put it in a save for bad times. Or I would walk around with it to impress some girls.
What do you use it for? UK is such a small country, that a 500 looks to be much overdrawn to me.

I spent most of my shooting time in Richmond Park shooting swans, geese, terns, ducks and deer. In fact most of time 500mm isnt long enough for me. I've often thought if selling the lens and putting the money back in my savings, but I Cant bear the thought of parting with this lens just yet!

colors worse in Nikon ?
The Nikon cameras has higher color resolution (color depth) than the Canon, ie better conditions for color reproduction,
the rest is choice of color space, profiles and color handling.
Yep, colors worse in Nikon. Don't go by what DxO says. Look at photographs, especially photographs of people. Canon looks better.

That's some good hyperbole. Yeah, Nikon just dropped the D810 but what's the presumption? That Canon's never going to release a new camera and will get out of the market? Maybe you'll be kicking yourself early next year for selling out of your Canon system when new bodies and sensors hit the market.

your probably right, but I cant wait till then..I have done pretty good on the lens swap,,getting quality lenses on here from Nikonians. Cost $4700 and should be able to get about 4600 (HOPEFULLY) for my lenses.

Look, if 5DIII was your girlfriend or better yet your wife, and upon learning that you've been flirting with D810, you'd be immediately kicked out with the door hitting you on the way out, before you even had the chance to say goodbye.
