I really don't understand people being so concerned about 4k video. Very little supports it at present time. I would prefer Canon concentrating on still pictures in this camera with a capability to shoot video similar to current model and putting their better video capabilities in a body that is built for video. It's not
To me 4K is huge if done properly, a 4K frame is essentially 8MP so it gives you a lot more quality and cropping ability for frame capture.
1080p frame capture is usable in cases but still leaves a lot to be desired, 4K frame capture in post would be usable for much more. Especially if the software or the camera could integrate the two to make it more available to the less sophisticated users out there.
I remember in the very early days of digital like very early 2000's my dad had an olympus or something that had pre-capture mode, ie. it would always be taking photos and bursting them into a buffer, when you pressed the shutter it would save the last several or so. If Canon could integrate a feature like this into a video mode, I'd totally go for that, especially if they could save the frames as raw but I'm not sure if the sensor pipeline would support that.
Previously, I had the 7D - but found it to noisy above 1600 ISO. I have the full sensor Canon, but still needed a crop sensor camera. I have found the 70D to be a better camera all round. However, the 7D is built like a tank. The 70D -not so much.

I never found one feature on the 70D that I wanted or needed that was any better than the 7D.
Here's a question for you all, let's say the 7D2 was announced and it was your dream camera, all the features you wanted, and a price that made sense. But it only came in one color: a bright pink. Canon says this decision is final and they're never planning to offer the model in any different colors or reverse the decision. Oddly enough the camera is a big seller in Japan and other Asian countries so this reinforces Canon's mentality.

Knowing this, would you buy it or not?
Yes, but I'd also buy a black permanent marker pen, they're cheap
The 7D and 7D II are manly cameras, and Canon knows "No dear, this is my old camera" would not work, the sales would plummet and the returns would be enormous if we went home with a PINK camera.

Sure, as it will be cheap enough. I see it as more of a niche product for long reach as a 3rd or 4th body compared to the higher grade bodies.

I wouldn't have to, my wife would buy it before I had a chance to decide....
