those are amazing, I just came back yesterday from there and my pics sucked bad, this is the best I could come up with ..I posted some of Sahalie that turned out ok...but dang I would have loved to accomplish what you did at Proxy!
I was there yesterday and had to shoot in harsh light. I got creative with it but I'm not sure the composition is what I was intending. I'll probably just walk away with my intimate from there. Yours make me want to go back. Glad I live so close.
Yeah, I envy you guys that live so close. I think this is a better morning activity, but I don't know, probably good in all conditions if light is right. I definitely wanted to take more compositions and maybe stay until the sun was just hitting the falls, but I got sorta side tracked. But in looking at some of the images, I just now realized that I could stitch some together and get a better composition. Here is one I have played with since I posted the originals. It is essentially a stitch of two you saw above giving more bottom and more falls above. Not much, but I like it a little better.
I always love background stories to how someone got a particular image. All of the image you posted are stunning, Jim. Congrats on being the featured thread. It's well deserved!
I hope i can find that place there when i travel, i want to get to most locations in Washington and Oregon including this one, i will not change my plan to there, definitely worth it in lifetime.
Hey Jim...good to hear you are ok. I have yet to get disoriented in a place (and don't look forward to such an occurrence) but I HAVE had to be airlifted out of Indian Head Beach one time when I was trapped by the tide. I volunteered to stay the night but the local sheriff would have nothing of it.
Nice shots, and good you had your wife there to get some help. Looks like the adventure was worth it though....I have yet to make it to Proxy Falls, definitely on my list.
