Yes, that might have helped. . These nail/spikes were kind of dull already though. What I really needed was tighter spacing but I was too cheap to buy more nails... liked the look of this spacing in any case.
When I saw the theme "uncomfortable" this was exactly the first thing that popped into my head. I was going to get lazy and use coils of nails for a nailgun, which I happen to have. Your's definitely looks better than anything I would have done. Once I saw your entry, I didn't even try.
Thanks, jbouchard. It was fun making this prop. I didn't take it apart yet and am thinking of doing another picture with it. Maybe have one of my kids stand on it in the corner for a "timeout gone too far" self assignment.
