Very nice, so many interesting details. Besides beautiful main subject, I especially like thin veil of water and tiny drops on moss.

Thanks! I spent a good deal of time just walking around the stream trying to figure out which comp to go with. Took a few shots here and there, but then noticed a little stream of water trickling down a side wall and knew what to do from there.

Really nice shot - what lens did you use for this?
I accidentally used a 24-105 @ 24mm. The reason I say accidentally is that prior to wading through the deepest section, I handed over my camera body and one lens (all there was room for) to my friend who had a dry bag. Once getting across, I realized that the one lens wasn't my 17-40 and I wasn't going back for it. Oh well, 24mm seemed to work out fine.

I believe I saw this on Flickr. But very nice job on the composition and light here, Danny!

Yep, I actually remembered to post it there! Thanks for the comment!

L O V E L Y !! The vertical foreground and composition is textbook perfect! Is this all from a single shot?
Dave
Thanks! No, the closest moss in the foreground was probably about a foot from the lens so I did some focus stacking. When focusing at infinite, I also did some exposure bracketing to make sure I could get that part of the scene exposed correctly and get just the right amount of detail in the waterfall.

Probably the best shoot i seen from here. Too bad, I won't make it to this fall for a while, don't have the proper gear or the balls to reach this fall. Too many horror stories...
You don't even need balls for this one since they shrink immediately anyway! Yeah, the logs were rather sketchy and I'm not sure if it's something I'd ever try in the rain again.

Absolutely gorgeous image !
How long and difficult was the hike to get there ?
Did you use any neutral density filters? (It looks like the gorge was pretty dark, but you still got good detail in the waterfall!)
TFS
The Gorge was pretty dark, but I was able to use only a polarizer and stay at a low ISO for all exposures of the focus stacking except for the waterfall. For that, I think I bumped it to ISO 400 and opened up the aperture a bit so I could capture some detail.
The hike in was actually done entirely on impulse after my friend said he wanted to give it a try instead of the hike we were originally planning on doing. I never thought I'd attempt this one since I've heard from people that it can be pretty tough. It was difficult enough that I don't know if I'll do it again. Crossing that slippery log jam in the rain felt pretty risky and then at the narrowest part of the Gorge, the water was probably over my head. I was able to shimmy along the cliff wall with the waterline about two inches from spilling over my chest waders. At one point I slipped and started floating down stream for a second or two before I could grab onto something and enough water got in my waders for me to get wet and cold.
