These are photographs taken of my mother two weeks prior to her passing on June 12, 2014. She, like me, hated having her photo taken and I had to take several shots of her while she wasn't paying attention to me. When she was paying attention to me, a hand would go up to shield her face or I would get a look of disdain from her. I'm glad I took these photos, even though she objected. We didn't know that she would pass so quickly after these were taken. It's my tribute to her. She was 97.

Here is one of my mom from Christmas time, 2006. She was a youthful 62. I remember being unhappy with the lighting but loving her expression... She laughs at my jokes like only a mother can.
