p.1 #1 · Identify Feathers Please

Picked these feathers up at the landfill.
I'm fairly certain that they are Adult Bald Eagle Primaries.

Can I get some opinions from some of the BE experts?

Please Identify....Adult bald eagle primaries???

This is a feather found on the ice where I witnessed approx 8 BE's on a dead moose.

These feathers measure approx. 28cm to 30cm, or 11in. to 12in.

Where were they found? How about Raven feathers? If they are bald eagle you are possessing them illegally so be careful.

OK......so today, I come upon 6 adults and 2 juveniles feeding on an expired moose that had been hit by a train. The moose carcass was just visible under the water in the ditch. That is when I spotted it..........a long primary feather, 45cm long. laying on the ice. I had to cut a long skinny pole to reach out and grab it as the ice is too thin. I now have it and will post a picture when I get back from work. I can also compare it to the feathers in this post.

Yes, I am First Nations. I will have to query the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources about my holding on to the feather.

After have seen some BE primaries from a friend, I believe now that the feathers in the top photo are those of a raven. Even though they have a brownish colour, they are not large enough. Plus, the raven outnumbers the eagle by 30-1.

Just a note: yesterday I saw 6 BE's and a turkey vulture hanging out and feeding on something. When I went to investigate...........a Beaver. how Canadian is that?
