I want to own at least one stupidly fast lens for the A7R, it's looking very much like it's going to be this one, especially after seeing this comparison with the much more expensive Hyperprime T/0.95, the fact that the Mikaton has an E mount is icing on the cake.
Improved coatings better hood can only be a good thing, unless the "pro" version commands a significant premium (feels more like a minor "mkII" update to me )
It seems like the price does not change. Actually MX camera delivers the pro version for everybody who has ordered the old one but has not received it yet.

i'm glad that i opted out while waiting for it since MXcamera just announced a new upgraded version for this lens.
The "The Dark Knight" major upgrade specifications are:
1. Improved lens coating, which makes the lens have better performance
2. Filter thread changed to 67mm from 58mm
3. New bayonet lens hood to prevent light flare and improve "back light "s situation performance.

1. Nice
2. Doesn't that mean it'll be bigger though? For a camera like the A7 series, smaller is better
3. Nice

They change it to smaller size, from 67 to 58mm - not the other way around.
The Facebook post says exactly what's above, filter size changed to 67mm. Did MX get it wrong?
What I'm reading is "The dark knight" version isnt even out yet. I'm hoping the coatings is to fix the color cast of this lens. Using my brother's copy, and there's a yellowish cast compared to the 50L.
They're saying all lenses shipped from now on are the Dark Knight, and they're expecting a large shipment of the new version next week to fill all the current orders with it. I asked MX if I ordered today which version would I get, they say everyone will get the revised version.
Edit: Charlie, just looked through that thread you linked, the 0.95 looks really good. The more I see from this lens, the more I want it.
it's great to have options and it's a very reasonable price for a sexy f0.95. there are a lot of nice 50s on the market already the FD, minolta, leica m and r, there will be a lot of interesting comparisons to come
I actually just received one today that I won in eBay. I was the only bidder(while I was in Hawaii)...he had a buy it now price for $11xx, and starting price of $899...I put $899 down and won! It's not the "Dark Knight" but so far, the few pics I've taken seem pretty good! Just got back from Hawaii this morn at 5am, and just now got to downloading pics to the 'puter...but I'll get back. I'll post pics either here or the A7 thread...

Didn't realise this lens was as expensive (relatively) as it is. I have the Cosina 55/1.2 and with other superb f1.2 options like the Revuenon (same lens as the Cosina), Porst etc. at much lower prices I'm wondering why everyone is so interested in this Mitakon ?
