Lovely image Patrick!
I hope you find something of interest at my site. I have not been writing the blog for very long. I am more interested in talking about the art of image making than the gear, although I do understand how important it is to have good gear for one's taste and usability. I recently discovered the longest lens I own, the 50-500mm, to be quite a creative tool. I bought it for birding, but the SD1M is not so good for birding, unless under the best conditions, but even then the buffer fills up too fast. I plan on writing about using this long telephoto as a creative tool in my next blog post.

Yes, each time I think I have got over the urge to buy a SD1M one of your photos changes my mind, but I can't see the point of it really below 50mm (DP3M), and the longer lenses I would probably want mainly for sport and wildlife neither of which it seems particularly suited too.
I am interested in the gear to some extent, but at the end of the day the light is the light and you can only get so far with the technical stuff. What I'm more interested in, is figuring out how to create an image that reflects the sense I had when I pointed the camera at it, and for some reason that seems to work better for me with the Merrills than with other digital cameras which give me nice sharp, well focused and well exposed images but which all seem to look a bit too 'clean'. The portability and simplicity of the DPn Merrills appeals too.
