Nicely done with the high ISO Julian. I need to go through some old x3fs; the fringe tool in the more recent SPP versions seems to work pretty well. That said, sometimes shots seem to work out. These were from a very weight- conscious Grand Canyon trip, mostly shooting for monochrome and no tripod. These have NR completely off and no fringe tool at all on these. All ISO 800.
Doug that Kangaroo puts the whole scene to scale. Fantastic.

Excellent shots Brendan, a great environment to capture. My above iso 2000 shot is pretty bad with blotches but downsized I quite like the rendition.Yet iso 640 & 800 are for myself fine on the Merrill's and only start going bizarre when exposed incorrectly. Likewise I never use noise control , on any camera, much prefer it that way rather than feeling uptight about it..
Wonderful shots Graham, Julian, Patrick, Ray, and Brendans. Brendans those turned out really well. I agree with Julian if the image is properly exposed the noise is less of an issue, it is still there but manageable, it is when underexposed or pushed in post that it really gets ugly. Graham lovely weather with the nice clouds. Ray it was pretty tough for me to find the kangaroo but finally I did, nice addition. Lots of nice eye candy everyone.
