Some amazing images in this thread. Always loved my Merrill's, DP2 especially, and sold them to help fund my A7r (then A7), which take amazing pics in their own right. 55/1.8 FE is simply magic, but then again, so was the DP2m, so when I happened across a nice sub $500 deal, just had to go and pick one up again.
I've never owned a Leica Monochrome so have to exclude that model, but otherwise, I've never owned any camera that has the B&W tonality of the Merrill files

Yes I had taken advantage of the low price of the Merrill here in the UK , being greedy I got all three. End result, all three certainly lighter than my bag of Full frame gear, lighter than my bag of m4.3 gear and quite smitten by the output from such a dinky camera with all its foibles.A camera that makes you think a lot which I enjoy.
I think the DP1Q is likely going to be tough to resist for me, assuming its lens is improved over the DP1m.
The DP2m is already so good as is, can't really see the point in spending twice as much for the Quattro version.
The DP1m just never had the "wow" that the 2 and 3 did, but if they can manage a better lens for it, it should be a real stunner and I rather enjoy the 28mm focal length

Makes sense what you say. Although the wider the lens the harder for that wow factor for me. There are maybe one or two and that is it, yet I cannot imagine them putting a different lens on unless it is an improvement by quite a way. Lets hope so.

Well Julian. I guess its just me and you right now. . Keep 'em coming. Nice shots!
Superb image of cobbles.
Yes but remember these forums mostly have posts from the latest gear as people move on from one model to the next. Not a bad thing and useful to view new camera images. But the likes of myself who is happy and find the old gear I have is adequate and a new camera will not improve my photography. A new Len's might help though
I'll tell ya...the Merrill's aren't overly easy cameras to use, though they do have a nice simple and easy to use interface. Julian somehow makes it look like its impossible to take a bad picture with a Merrill because each and every image he post is just exceptional

I find the DP2M about as easy a camera as possible to use. First, I never, ever try to take shots of moving objects with it. This is a scenery camera. Street scenes are possible as long as you photograph the scene and not the moving objects in particular.
As you said, the interface is about as simple as it gets. Worlds better than the likes of Fujifilm for example. One can have the DP2M ready to shoot in literally seconds. The camera focuses at an acceptable rate and the buffer is deep enough that I can fire off a few successive shots if need be. I never, ever hit the 7 shot buffer limit.
It just does not get much easier than the DP2M.
I shoot 99% film now, but I still keep my DP2M semi-active because it is such an enjoyable camera to shoot.
OMG - are the Foveon sensors outstanding in color reproduction and contrast rendition, or is it just that only top notch photographers buy these cameras?
I am astonished by the visual quality of these images...
