I've seen some DP3 images in the DP2 thread, and someone got their peanut butter on my chocolate, so it struck me that maybe a foveon image thread would be appropriate. It seems like there is a mini-renaissance of interest in the current generation, and maybe we can keep this going until the next gen comes out.
I just got a DP3 of my own a few days ago, and haven't begun diving into an optimal workflow. These are jpegs SOOC. I've been quite happy with the quality of these already, much to my surprise after reading through the 90 pages of the DP2 thread.
I had no idea there were this many beavers in Sedona f/3.2
Joe I think that is a good idea and hope others do also. The foveon sensor camera's don't sell in the quantities that other brands do , so therefore there is not really enough people using them to keep a good thread running for each and every model. Lets see how it goes.
I like both of those Julian. These cameras do many things well.
Looks like we are going to get to know each other pretty well here - kinda quiet
Here are a few more from the DP3 at the same place as the last two above. A somewhat touristy, but visually interesting place just outside of Sedona AZ.
Very little PP on them, still working out a workflow. Liking Photo Mechanic very much for culling the photos and integrating them into my collection, but the price is a little steep for a secondary image processing program.
f/2.8
f/2.8
f/5.6
(P.S. - Does anyone know how/if it is possible to left-align images linked from flickr?)
Recently got a new/used DP3m to complement my DP2m. (mint from Japan, used might as well be new condition) I think Sigma color fidelity is superior with the 3. Really outstanding camera, so glad I picked it up.
Some LA Street art in all its glory, the 50mm is another outstanding lens for this lineup. This is SOOC jpeg, no green cast to the B&W part of the street art behind the circles. (although correcting the slightly green cast/bias in the DP2M, which I also own, is pretty easy in the Sigma Photo Pro software)
