In my opinion, Avocet and Black-necked Stilts are the most romantic birds.
They seem to care about each other before and after mating.

Here is one of the set I was fortunate to capture.

Thanks very much, Eric. It was kind of hit or miss; meaning that sometimes the female is ready but the male is not ready and the male keeps washing, preening and then fly away
