Like the photo; not sure if people are willing to share with a noob; but do you get the reflection with a white gloss plastic/glass? It's ok if you would not to give away trade secrets :-)
I'm just starting to dabble in this type of photograph, I have a lot to learn.

I used a mirror. The image is back lit via a tungsten lamp (Lowel Pro iLight) on a seamless white background, with black sideboards angled inwards on either side of the glass that define the edges. I shot this at night with all other lights off to ensure there would be zero spectral highlights on the glass.

For comparisons' sake, I shot this one on a glossy white surface using a similar technique. The reflection is far more muted here:

Greg, thanks I really appreciate the information, it's always great to see a picture then hear a little about how it was created. I see what you mean about the difference. I've got to get some basic lighting setup.
