p.1 #1 · December Quarter by Crumpler?

I can't seem to find any information on this bag besides what I can see on their website and the opinions from eBags Can someone post some real pictures?

december quarter

I'm looking for other options besides the LowePro Stealth Repoter 600AW (which is pretty darn hard to find!)

I've taken a look at the Bob Krist Bag and I just don't like the colored leather trim

^ (these are all laptop / camera bags if you haven't noticed )

Four pounds and four ounces is a heckuva heavy bag, isn't it??

I have a couple of Crumpler bags, one laptop bag and one camera bag (cannot remember the name, but it is not the December Quarter). With both bags, I find that the size and weight of the bag is disproportionate to what I can actually stuff into it. They do provide good protection, though.

if you can wait until the weekend I will oblige.

I didn't realise the bag was that heavy, I know it offers great protection and for someone like me who hates backpacks with a firey passion but still wanted the option of sticking a powerbook in there as well it was pretty much ideal

I had the "company embarrassment" bag, which is smaller that the "december quarter"......the size of the bag and the amount that it will hold is very disproportionate due to the padding and dividers......it didn't work for me...I ended up selling it....the bags bulky and very rigid......

I have seen them all at the Crumpler shop - it's difficult to visualise putting all the gear there for me

The DQ is wide large - it's still a decent size but, as I've mentioned, I've no idea how heavy it will be a body and a couple of lenses - particularly when it's a sling style bag as opposed to a back pack. That said, the time to access the camera is almost 10-fold compared to a back pack.

I'm going to have another look tonight!

Same experience as others, super well made, layout just not workable, seems like design is not very well thought out.

1000 words, when i wanted to check the layout of the crumpler bags, i took everything with me and tried to fit what i would carry into the different bags. The chick in the shop didn't mind and it kept me occupied for a while...
FWIW, I ended up with a super snipe and a bunion insert - i found this gave me a better layout, the bag is not heavy and i have a bag that i can use for other things. I have found that when carrying a lot of gear, i use my Lowepor backpack, but if it's just one body, lens, flash and bits n' pieces, i use the Crumpler without the insert.

cheers

Simon

still haven't got the pics but will this weekend, but some thigns to add, I got this bag to carry my camera gear and a laptop and have it at a size that is still usable as hand luggage in airports. It took some messing with dividers to get it to a point i was happy with but I got there in the end. its probably not the most space efficient setup but I don't have masses of gear and like to be about to get at my stuff quickly without messing around

Let me tell you, I bought the Stealth Reporter 500 AW and had to return it beacause it was HUGE. I have a lot of junk and this bag was till too much, plus I'm only 5'1" so the bag was almost hafl my size. I exchanged it for the Lowepro CompuTrekker AW. I can fit the same mount of stuff plus my laptop in a smaller bag. I didnt want a backpack to beging with but I had to sacrife accessibility for comfort. There was no way in h-e-l-l I was gonna carry the 500 AW with all my stuff in it over my shoulder.

Cheers Simon! That's a good idea. I'm glad to hear that it was not too heavy in terms of carrying the gear as a sling.

I went to the store on Friday and played around with the December Quarter bag. It doesn't have the neat partitioning that the smaller versions like the Tallee do (but that might be an advantage for you). For me, it was a slightly too big for my purposes.

Best of luck!
