I was early at Moran Point and while setting up and taking some blue light shots I saw a brightening under the clouds around 12 minutes prior to sunrise.
The light was never strong, but very uniform and as it got pinker; the reflected light on the canyon was perfect to enhance the warm colors of the canyon.

Thanks a lot. I am reading Photoshop Lab Color by Dan Margulis and used LAB techniques for this. But this scene did not even fill the histogram so it was easy to process.
Now this is a nice scene, and you did get some nice soft light. Good job here.

Thanks Jim, it is a great scene, I have shots from Yaki Point and Navajo Point to show later. I think this is a top location for sunrise. I really like the color in the canyon at this place.
