So Karl pointed out that I've been absent from the forum for a while - long story there. Work is still keeping me away from the camera, but less so lately and I need to get out and shoot. In the meantime, here are some photos from last summer that I mostly never got around to posting. A couple of them made an appearance in the Best of 2013 thread, but the rest are... virgins to the forum.
These are just the Grizzly photos. Tomorrow, I'll try to post a handful of puffin shots. I hope you enjoy them.
As always, feel free to point out anything you dislike or like even. EXIF is intact.
Now we know what we've been missing! These are really good each and every one. The animals look so relaxed and no stress at all from the photog taking such intimate shots...well done!
Eric
Ed, these are such a wonderful treat ! You have captured some wonderful moments . I feel like I just spent the day with the bears . A true joy to see these.
Got any more, I'm not quite tired of saying good things to myself about these shots
Wow Ed, you're absent for a while and then come back with bucket of bears that are some of the most character filled bear shots I have ever seen!! Oh my this set just rocks.
I must say I am green with envy. That is a fantastic set Edward. To pick a favorite would be an exercise in futility, but the cub(s) in the meadow, and the panos are terrific. Exceptionally well done!!
A day in the life . . . Edward, you've managed to capture a lot of expression and that's no easy task with animals. This series is like a storybook of their life. Love the 1st and 5th photos especially. I'm glad to see you also included the last photo--it's like a symbol of their habitat. If those cubs had black fur and floppy ears they'd look like my puppy.
Wonderful set of images, especially those first 3. those first two can be the posters for motherhood in the wild, but so many great images scattered throughout. I was certainly drawn to those feet in the feeding time shot, followed it up to the cubs watching, and then to the mother's head keeping an eye out. I like what you did with that last one too.
