Hello good friend... I sure miss seeing your excellent work, I hope you'll be able to get out shooting again soon.
Thanks so much for your very kind support over the years.
Man, I must go back for a 4th look. This is a fine example of success Kirk. Not only a great place to learn from here but you are on inspiration to others including myself for quite some time now. Congrats on all the growth and positive feedback many times over as well as the big 10K!

Triumphant series to mark this occasion my friend, Your talent is really on display here with this marvelous catalogue. You've shown us focal length is not a limiting factor but simply an element of presentation. The top shooters dazzle us with their images but they do so much more than that. They inspire us to think about our own approach and technique and open new avenues of creativity as YOU do Kirk
Luck in the field buddy and can't wait to see what's in store for us this year
Tom
Humble thanks for the very generous words my friend... they mean a great deal to me.
You have always been one of the very best on the forum... teaching everyone including me how to capture, compose, and process beautiful images. One of your most memorable images for me was when Mr. Zoom came up and you guys got in the yaks in some poor weather if I remember correctly... then the clouds parted to some gorgeous light hitting a BE up high in a tree/nest and you grabbed a shot that hasn't come close to being duplicated... I just stared at it for a good while. There are many, many more and I would love to see 40-50 of your favorites someday.
Thanks a million Tom, and I still hope we can shoot side-by-side one day.

Incredible pictures Kirk. Love the chicks. You could use a Yoga mat to avoid ants.
BTW Better not mention the D800 on this forum. Lets keep that secret weapon to ourselves.
Thanks so much Bruno, most appreciated.
I do use a yoga mat... and now spray around the edge with ant spray which helps a lot.
I absolutely LOVE the D800 as you do... I'll try to keep quiet.

I really enjoyed your walk through time. There is no question that your work has come a long way since that first osprey shot. So many inspiring images here that really say something about your skill and your ability to make art from nature.
Here's to 10,000 more.

Many thanks for the wonderful compliment Mark.
I love the challenge and beauty of bird photography so much that I can't imagine not enjoying it for the rest of my life.

Nice to get your 10,000 post, but I really enjoyed the way you shared it. Gave some of us who aren't quite that far along the path a glimpse into the steps you've taken along the way. As well as the more community minded nature of this fourm. Let's see another 10,000.
It really is a evolving process as you point out Scott. For me it involved studying the images here that inspired me to be better, and getting the exposure right in the field makes the processing work so much easier. Each time someone would give me a tip to improve it was actually quite exciting to see the final image improve so noticeably. If you see something you like but aren't sure how or what to do... just ask. There are a lot of talented and willing teachers in this wonderful community.
Thank you for the very kind words, most appreciated.

Well D, let me be the first to say that I sure appreaciate having you on this board. Oh wait, someone MAY have said that already. In ANY case, I thoroughly enjoy your images time and time again. In fact, as I look at the forum posts, I scan for your name.
Keep up the great work my friend.

No one else has said that... thanks for the validation H.

Heartfelt congratulations, Kirk! This is an excellent set of images to commemorate your milestone!
I have always admired your work and you skill. Your color rendering is one of the most pleasant I've seen in this Forum and your ability to frame the shot second to no one.
Your always properly offered comments make you one of the most respected member of this community.
Socrate
Equally heartfelt thank you for the very gracious and encouraging words Socrate, they mean a great deal to me.
Be assured that I have learned more from you than you will ever know... many thanks for your wonderful contributions to our community.
