and the top is whatever i didnt name?
Ditto.
A touch more vignetting in the bottom compared to the middle and the top seems like a slightly wider FL with more OOF blur (?Noctilux @ f/0.95), so I guess they were shot at their respective widest apertures rather than all at f/1.4.

I'm not sure what is with the vignette on the top one ... a hood not on right? That's terrible color too
I would have guessed that the middle was the new 58G and the bottom was the Noct ... no idea what the first one is ....
But then I read down a bit and see I have the 58G and the Noct switched ... What I am curious about is why the 58G is not sharp ... I'm assuming camera motion since these don't look like they were taken on a tripod (different framing in each).
Color wise I like the 58G better ... sharpness wise, the Noct, but as mentioned, with the test not being on a tripod, it is impossible to tell if it is a lens issue or a motion issue.

He shot the Noctilux on an a7 so if the top is indeed the Noctilux, all bets are off as to how it behaves on that camera nor how accurate colors are rendered.

I really thought the middle shot was the Noct. It was my favorite. I'm not a bokeh expert, but would you guys agree the middle shot from the 58G has nicer bokeh than the Noct?

Bokeh wise, I think the noct and 58G share a very similar signature. The wider aperture does allow noct to produce a more dramatic rendition, albeit only slightly so.
If one like the bokeh rendition on noct, it's hard to not like the 58G. Plus the fact that it actually suppresses aberrations better than the noct.
For people who like the noct, I'd say unless you want a piece of nikon milestone and the f1.2, buying the new 58G makes better sense. I am, however, holding onto the noct since I have bought and sold the lens three times. I told myself when I bought it for the last time, if I am buying again, the next time this noct leaves me, it'd be from my cold dead hand.

The 58G DOES have nicer bokeh than the noct. I always preferred it plus with nano coating you get very nice coloration. Surprisingly too, the 58G is stop slower.

I thought the point of the Noct was nice sharp light in focus... in other words a star or light which looks like it is supposed to, compared to other lenses where it looks like an elongated blob. I'd be interested in seeing that too.
