That's a really killer shot. Almost looks like a sketch.
There's a huge Cottonwood tree from which I used to pick mistletoe, 40 years ago. More recently, I've been been photographing this tree in several differing situations. Last year a windstorm broke off a major portion of the tree and looks a bit wounded.
Thanks for your comments. That tree was a huge specimen. It seems insurmountable that it would ever be gone within my lifetime. Funny how things unfold ...
Really awesome shot Matt. I like all the subtle details in the background. I tried a shot similar to this after a fresh snowfall and frost but it didnt turn out nearly as interesting.
Wow, that is a killer photo. Simple yet you keep looking at it there is such minute detail. It sucks that the tree got taken down but at least you got a beautiful photo to remember it by.
I think the superlatives have been used, but I would say this is an excellent image
Or to quote a Jeffrey or Fred "Excellent image making".
Certainly one I would love to have captured.
This reminds me of a tree I have been planning/considering capturing.
