Wow, I bet this would look great printed really large or a Sizzlepix!!! Great job. Best, Bob
Thanks Bob. That's the plan, it's going on my wall as soon as I get around to getting a test print done and am happy with it. It should print up nice really big.. The 14-24 is a very sharp lens.

I can barely tell this is the same photo as the last one (seen in the "Post your BEST 3..." thread). This one is pretty phenomenal and has a real sense of fading light into darkness. The dark sky above the bright sunset (or sunrise?) combined with the flow gives the image a flavor of fantasy that I really like.
The editing is pretty drastic. I'd be curious to see how it looks full resolution for print (noise, clean edges & geometry, posterizing etc). On first glance, the color and overall glow should look pretty striking on Kodak Endura with a bit of tweaking to keep the shadows from blocking up. Keep us updated.

Thanks a lot! To be honest, this is actually a super clean image. Much cleaner than my previous edit which had a bit of colour noise modern technology is amazing, and as far as landscapes go it's hard to beat a D800 plus 14-24 combo for resolution and a clean file.

Beautiful! 1 awesome image in 10 days...thats a good thing.
One awesome image in any one trip is a good thing. I've learned a long time ago, if you can average one stunning image per trip, you are doing well. But the idea is to increase the frequency of trips!!

I find it hard to get motivated to shoot where I live. If you look at my profile, there's more shots from my overseas trips than where I live. I love the mountains, and all we have here are mounds, comparatively speaking. Here I drive an hour and I'm on the coast but there's really not that many interesting features. A couple nice rocks but that's the best of it.. I drive an hour the other way I'm in woop woop with nothing but dead grass surrounding me. I'm moving over to Banff or Canmore next year, then the frequency of trips will definitely be up Many, many beautiful places and hikes within arms reach from there.. and places like Glacier National Park only a few hours away.

About to get a test print done before the 24x36, what paper would you guys recommend for this? I'm not hugely experienced in printing, so any input would be greatly appreciated.
