Hi All,
Thanks for dropping by.
It's snowing here with about 6 inches of fresh snow on the ground. This helps cover the dead animals that these eagles like to feed on. It also helps to force them to water to fish for gizzard shad. Whoopeeee.
Some of you have asked about the cut down trees. YEP, the two or three trees that the eagles used to over look the water in front of the board walk have been removed. They were dead and located in the picnic area which could be dangerous to the picnickers. There are still a couple of trees that are being used as well as the trees in the parking lot.

Well that's bad news Am I to assume the eagles are flying from the trees overlooking the parking lot and the preserve just south of the parking lot? Without those trees on the peninsula, I'm "assuming" it's going to drastically cut down on good fishing shots going from left to right in front of the boardwalk? I also suspect it will be more difficult to land good shots w/o a 500mm? I used to stand across from the tree/peninsula with a 300mm on a crop body waiting for fishing shots between the boardwalk and the peninsula. I would think those opportunities will be gone?

That's basically correct unless someone is baiting.

Well, I guess the only bright spot is you won't have anyone with a point and shoot walking over to the trees to get a "close-up" and scaring the Eagles away for three hours!
Fantastic series as always "Mayor" I will have to get ahold of the feeding schedule

Thanks for the info Larry I hope to make it out there real soon. I see that the temps have been very low and look to become even colder in the next week.
