Boy this sure is fun to watch these come up each day...I come here a few times just to see what has been posted.
Everyone has been posting such fun and great shots, it makes it a blast to stop in.
Socrate...hope that little hooter, was okay...seemed a bit stuck
Mark...I love that first Heron shot..reminds me of a kid playing in the surf.
Greg that whole set is wonderful...
Eric...no cats? I think that Toucan shot makes up for it all on it's own.
Ted...I know I'm doing some right when I get a Wow from you.
As for your question Tim...the Snowy was from the dike boardwalk up in Boundary Bay. That mess o' eagles was great because it started as just one..then a second joined, they appeared to be guarding a fish from there and it just erupted after that. Great thing was it all unfolded about 40 or so feet from me.
As Paul said...This thread is tremendous viewing - wow, there's plenty of inspiration for next year here!

Scott's round 2:
This summer I flew up to the high arctic and looked and looked for muskox and only found 1 - but it was a fantastic cultural experience that I hope to repeat this next summer.
1) My $7000 picture (trip cost) of a muskox (my target)
2) My free picture of an arctic fox in summer color (not my target but a pleasant surprise).
3) The terrain was flat and rough for Atv'ing
This was my favorite week of the summer - the pictures were not great but
- Guides shooting a caribou and eating the raw liver dipped in stomache contents
- Crossing the northwest passage in a 20' open boat
- watching the inuit dance
- watching and buying carvings
- sleeping under the continuous light on the tundra
was a week I will never forget.
Merry Christmas
Scott
Muskox on Prince William Island after about 4 days of ATV'ing with my 200-400

Excellent set of the long legged guys Mark! The first is a real nice shot, so much to like there. 2 had my laughing, it does remind me of the Snoopy dance Great work and a fitting contribution
