Terrific series. As much as the last shows the brutal reality of nature, the first two are my favorites. Beautiful animals and backgrounds.

Thanks Brian. You have to love those shots for their appeal. Don

Really nice set. Probably one of the best I've seen. So sad for the arctic fox though.
Thanks. There is a large population of arctic fox this year. This was a juvenile. This sadly keeps the population in balance! Don

Don,
Like others- I am speechless over this amazing post.
Eric said it best (imo) and I re-iterate his words.

Thanks Charlie. Much appreciated from a man of your worldly travels. Don

A really striking set of images, Don. I enjoyed both the series and the comments that followed. It's interesting that fox-on-fox violence evokes more emotion than a typical African predation image, perhaps because it's somewhat unexpected.
I'm also wondering about a potential FM idiosyncrasy...when I first scrolled through the set, it seemed as though the two fox image was the last in the trio, which seems consistent with other comments. But, now, the order in which I see the images, top to bottom, is Arctic, aftermath, Red. In any case, I am struck not only by the technical strength of the first image, but the sense of complacency in the last. TFS.

Thanks Greg. The images still appear on my screen as I intended with the 2 foxes inn the last frame. It's not only the unexpected that people react to but also the stark and harsh reality of the shot. I'm glad you commented. Don
